Kanouli is a peaceful area offering a seemingly endless sandy beach with a few tavernas serving local specialities. The lake provides a safe haven for many rare bird species and this area has generally escaped the ravages of tourism.
Apart from the main Prasoudi beach, other sandy coves such as Skidi, Kanouli and Prasoudi offer a quiet spot for sunbathing and the swimming is excellent. Despite its peaceful seclusion, Chalikouna is just an easy drive of 8 kms from the popular beach resort of Agios Georgios (south) and 6 kms from the busy night life in Messonghi and Moraitika.

The beach of Prassoudi is found some 5-6 kilometers southwestern to the scenic inland village of Aghios Matthaios and some 28 kilometers southwestern to the town of Corfu, situated at the foot of mountain Gamelion, known from many myths of Greek Mythology, today on this mountain it is found the famous Monastery of Pantokratoras. You will enjoy swimming at this beach, but the nearby beaches of Kanouli or Chalikouna are also a good alternative. And if you have a boat, you may visit the small skerries of Prassoudia and Pentanissia, not far from the coast.
